  • Woman’s Sweatlogde Ceremony, followed by a cacao blessing and a beautiful drum prayer. Another beautiful gathering.

May 18th.

This past weekend, our community gathered in deep prayer and sisterhood for our monthly women’s sweatlodge. We shared sacred space in a drum ceremony and cacao honoring, holding one another through emotion, healing, and love. Together, we welcomed the 4th lead drummer for Moondance Pennsylvania—a moment both tender and powerful. As we opened the circle to new sisters, we honored our traditions and the ever-growing strength of our connection.

Offering to Mt. Tlaloc

Once a year, we return to Mount Tlaloc—on a pilgrimage rooted in ancient memory, guided by our Abuelita Tonalmitl and her lineage, to offer our prayers, songs, and hearts to the guardians of this holy place. We climb in reverence, in petition for the rains, on behalf of the Moondance bundle and all life to continue.

This hike is not just a tradition. It is an act of deep reciprocity. A calling to give before we ask, to lay offerings before the Earth and her spirits, to build a strong foundation for the dance—so it may be safe, beautiful, and held in the highest integrity. We follow cautiously in the footsteps of our grandmothers and grandfathers, honoring every step, every breath, every prayer made before us. This is sacrifice on behalf of humanity, for life itself.

Thank you, Tlaloc, for receiving us, for allowing us to climb the highest ceremonial temple in Latin America, for the blessing of your rain —the sacred liquor of the Earth. Thank you to all the offerings made since time immemorial that have allowed the waters to flow, so that plants may grow, and life may flourish. Water is life

We walked not only with our feet, but with our spirits. We learned in motion how the songs are a shield, how they carry us, how they lift us. Not just metaphorically—but physically, energetically, collectively. When the hail fell heavy, and the wind tried to test our resolve, it was the power of the songs, the power of prayer, the power of will that carried over 200 of us, climbing and singing in unison, lifted by the vibration of devotion.

Gracias, Mamá Azul, for teaching us the sacred responsibility of offerings.

Gracias, Abuelita Tonalmitl, for walking ahead of us and showing us the way with love, wisdom, and unwavering faith.

I’m deeply proud of my sisters from the USA who came to make this offering, to walk and continue learning this sacred ways together, to offer prayers on behalf of our circle in Pennsylvania. We made these offerings for all the women who are seeking healing, who need to find us and know they are welcome—that we are creating a safe place full of prayer, love, and spirit.

Thank you, Tlaloc, for what you represent:

The offering.

The rain.

The emotions.

The heart of the dance.

Life.

Bless Teomanicuicatl, bless Ilhuicaxochitl, bless all the singers who carry the heartbeat and the shield. Keep them strong, keep them protected, for they hold the vibration that keeps us all alive.
