The Moon Dance is an ancient and sacred ceremony, where women of all ages, from all corners of the world, come together in unity. Regardless of lands, beliefs, or religions, we gather in reverence, fasting and dancing within a ceremonial circle for four days and nights. We pray for all of humanity and honor the boundless spirit of nature, as we feel the divine feminine essence expanding within us.
We come together to heal our bodies, our wombs, and to cleanse generations of pain, oppression, and neglect. Through the sacred sweatlodge, we receive the medicine of purification, allowing us to be reborn. We dance in harmony with the ancient and medicine songs, moving in sacred rhythms, attuned to the directions of the universe. With the guidance of the elements, we honor Mother Drum, the heartbeat of our existence, the heartbeat of our dance, the shield, the first dancer that ever existed.
In this circle, we hold the wisdom of our ancestors as we revive this powerful tradition, which now blooms once more across the world.
Our circle is guided by: Itzpapalotl and Xochicuauhtli (Two Grandmothers of the Circle), Heads of the dancers’ rows, the Sahumadoras (Women Guardians of the Holy Fire), the Earth Women (carriers of tlalli the Earth element), the Water Women (carriers of atl the Water element), the Wind Women (carriers of ehecatl the wind element), Dancers, Singers, Fire, Water, Kitchen, Kids camp, Earth, Ecology and Security comission who provide protection and support for all, ensuring balance and safety in the sacred space.
Together, we walk this path of spiritual renewal, honoring the ancient ways and the powerful rhythm of life.
Tlazohcamati (Thank you) for all who come with open hearts.
