SONG CIRCLE

A Sacred Circle of Transformation and Legacy.

In this circle, we weave a space of support, healing, and connection for women, guided by the ancestral wisdom of our grandmothers and the cosmovision of the Moondance Xochimeztli. Our purpose is to elevate our voices, heal our relationships, and learn to work with internal and external elements, always with profound respect and alignment with the teachings we’ve received.

Sacred Intention

This is not just a circle for singers; it is a space where women become carriers of elements, medicine, and legacy. We honor the words of our grandmothers, transmitting their teachings with integrity and without altering their essence, preserving their loving legacy.

Here, respect, discipline, commitment, love, and congruence are fundamental pillars. Together, we sustain and weave a safe space where we continue learning, singing, and dancing, always connected to our mission and our community.

Roles and Responsibilities in the Circle

Within our drum circle, each sister holds an essential role to maintain harmony and balance:

  • Fire Carrier: Responsible for energy cleansing, the huehuetl, and preparing the space. Arrives 30 minutes early to light the fire.
  • Water Carrier: Prepares a special throat tea and ensures the waters of the circle flow pure and clear, carries an Acomitl and a feather to bless everything and everyone.
  • Earth Carrier: Connects the group to Mother Earth through honey, essences, fruits and cacao.
  • Atecocolli Carrier: Holds the ancestral voice that reminds us of discipline and cleanses the circle’s energy.
  • Tobacco Carrier: Unites the prayer and ensures everyone offers tobacco upon entering and leaving the huehuetl.

Hummingbird (Colibrí): Safeguards the energy and movement inside and outside the drum, ensuring harmony is maintained.

Vision for 2027

  • Teach our sisters to hold complete ceremonies through the sacred songs: acayetzin ceremony, siembras, cosechas, water prayers, sweatlodge ceremony, the 4 full nights of dance.
  • Strengthen the legacy of our grandmothers through the continuation of the Moon Dance in the East Coast.

Commitment and Shared Path

  • Renew our commitment with tobacco at each Ilhuicaxóchitl anniversary.
  • Participate in both online and in-person meetings to share teachings and songs.
  • Create a safe and respectful space for discovering and strengthening our voices.

Essential Qualities

  • Discipline: Cultivate consistency in our practice.
  • Congruence: Act with coherence between words and actions.
  • Commitment: Lovingly uphold the circle’s purpose.

We warmly welcome you to this sacred moon circle.

Together, we continue learning, supporting one another, and singing, honoring our grandmothers and building a path that flourishes with respect, love, and light.
